The New Zealand Faith Community Nurses Association (NZFCNA) is a national ecumenical organisation for Christian nurses working within their own faith communities.
NZFCNA is a registered charitable society. It aims to support, train and provide networks for faith community nurses within New Zealand and links with parish nurses internationally. NZFCNA is a professional organisation providing information regarding standards of care required within this specialised form of nursing.
Faith Community Nursing (also known as Parish Nursing) is a model of holistic health care, requiring a currently registered nurse with spiritual maturity.
Faith community nurses provide primary health care in rural or urban settings as a form of mission from their supporting churches or Christian organisation. They promote faith and spirituality as an effective and essential aspect of health care and wellness.
