The New Zealand Faith Community Nurses Association (NZFCNA) is a national ecumenical organisation for Christian nurses working within their own faith communities. It aims to support, train and provide networks for faith community nurses within New Zealand and links with parish nurses internationally. NZFCNA provides information regarding standards of care required within this specialised form of nursing.
Faith Community Nursing (also known as Parish Nursing) is a model of holistic health care, requiring a currently registered nurse with spiritual maturity.
Faith community nurses provide primary health care in rural or urban settings as a form of mission from their supporting churches or Christian organisation. They promote faith and spirituality as an effective and essential aspect of health care and wellness.
"...faith by itself, if not accompanied by action is dead."
James 2:17
